The Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute, located at the University of Wisconsin–Stout in Menomonie, provides solutions to positively impact the future of persons with disabilities and others in the community through services, training, and research.
Service areas consist of Assistive Technology, Benefits Analysis, Employment Services, Evaluation Services, and the Transition Partnership School. Follow the links for more information on each service.
- Assistive technology staff assess individuals and recommend accommodations or devices to reduce limitations or prevent injuries.
- Benefits analysis services help individuals receiving public or private benefits such as Social Security understand the effect that work earnings may have on these benefits.
- Employment services are available to assist individuals with disabilities to achieve a successful job placement.
- Evaluation services help individuals explore their vocational potential and determine the best career or living situation to pursue.
- The Transition Partnership School provides an opportunity for students with disabilities to make a successful transition from high school to work, independent living, and/or postsecondary education.
- Training for rehabilitation professionals can be provided face-to-face, online, or in a blended format.
- Research projects provide guidance to rehabilitation professionals on current trends and findings in the field of vocational rehabilitation.
